Race Team 2016 Wrap

When the final competitor crossed the line at the Holiday Half Marathon on Dec. 11, that marked the end of the 2016 Grand Prix Season for the Portland Running Company Race Team. What a year it has been! We celebrated the season and highlighted a number of outstanding contributions with a big to-do at Lucky Lab in Multnomah Village the following night, Dec. 12.

The overall men’s and women’s champions for 2016 are Hunter Bennett-Daggett and Katherine Dutton Tomlinson (below, at party, completing feats of strength.)

Both Hunter and Katherine held off stiff challenges from runners-up David Graham and Stephanie Crawford, only 10 points behind. Gretchen Funk, Mallory White, and Gail Moebius finished in the top 5 on the women’s side; Wayne Dilly, Pat Funk, and Chuck Eichacker round out the top 5 in the men’s column.

Below find a list of all our award winners from the year-end gala, and a few pics from the event and the season. Click here for the final overall standings. Team members voted on next year’s Grand Prix race schedule at the party. That lineup will be released shortly; the first race of the year, by popular demand, will be the PRC Winter Series 5k at PRC-Beaverton on January 14th. See you there!
